From Yoga Cape Town
Address: Cape Town
The Yoga Factor Studio was founded in 2009 by owner and instructor, Darden Lotz. Darden has made Cape Town her home for the past fifteen years and is originally from Vermont in the United States. She acquired her Yoga Alliance Register Certificate under Jim Harrington, Australian Yoga Teacher Trainer (IYA). Darden is a qualified Astanga Yoga Teacher. She excelled in such sports as gymnastics and cross-country running since childhood. Yoga practice greatly improved her overall health and her performance in the sports she loves. In addition, Darden found that yoga was an effective method in body strength building and maintaining flexibility. The classes she offers at the Yoga Factor Studio provides her students with a unique blend of the various yoga styles and stretching techniques. The combination helps facilitate the yoga practise of beginner and intermediate yoga students. Students enjoy Darden’s private classes where they receive her individual attention and hands-on approach. Students can be assured that their individual class time has been tailored just for them and they are sure to receive a full-body workout and a full-body stretch. Darden recommends to her students to blend cardiovascular activities with their yoga practise for a well-rounded balanced life. Instruction for corporate classes are also offered. Darden has received high praise from many venues including her teaching style highlighted in a Runner’s World article written in 2010 entitled “Yoga For Sissies”. The article describes how the author became a convert to yoga after being instructed by Darden. Darden used her passion for running, in combination with her training as a yoga instructor, to provide a class that lead him to feel challenged and refreshed, both physically and mentally. Darden enjoys sharing her passion for yoga with her students as they begin their yogic path.
